By Sandi Sawyerr, June 14, 2012

God willing, we are heading back to Ghana, West Africa for an extended mission trip August - October, 2012.  The mission trip for the team is 2 weeks September 5th - 19th -- and YOU ARE INVITED. :)

We are also inviting individual or small teams of missionary visitors throughout our stay there. We can work with you to accomodate your dates! If you are interested, contact Sandi (sandi [at] hour-of-visitation.org - also see Getting Ready & Current Dates ).

Jesus Crying for the people of the World.

Dates of our Stay in Ghana: July 25, 2012 (+/-) to October 1, 2012 (+/-)  (tentative)

Mission Team Activities:

Team activities will be varied and will include some or all of the following:

  • Evangelism / Outreach
  • Helps to the Poor
  • Street Crusades
  • Children's Programs
  • Sharing at Churches & Schools - share your testimonies, vision, teaching, and encouragement
  • Customized Activities sculptured around your giftings, vision, and skills. What are you good at? What burns in your heart to share with others?

For many years, it has been our passionate desire and calling to bring the Love of Jesus to Africa. For many years, our hearts have been called to the people of West Africa. And this year, we hope - by God's Grace and provision - to return to Ghana.

We have been praying into - and - planning and working on - several projects and goals. We are still praying! We want to be led to work on the ones that God wants us to.... so the list below is a tentative plan of possibilities. We depend on the Lord to finalize and work out the final plans.

Some of our Future Projects:

~~~ Evangelism ~~~
~~~ Ministry to the Poor ~~~

~~~ TargetGirls ~~~
The main goal of TargetGirls is to help disadvantaged single moms, teen girls, and war victims to learn a trade to help them support themselves and their children.
~~~ Church Planting ~~~
Sometime in the future, we hope to plant another church (God willing). God has been showing us a glimpse of His bountiful love for His people... and also of His heart for His church at large - that it would be truly a place worthy to be called by His name. Our goal is to facilitate the growth of such REAL, TRUE houses of God; that would...
- Be centers of TRUE worship
- Provide true community and care for each other like in the Book of Acts, 4:32-35 (see *below)
- Where none of it's members are lacking or hurting
- Places where the pastors are NOT driving expensive cars, jets, and living lives of luxery whilst the congregation can't even afford to buy good shoes.
- Where the pastors do NOT subscribe and submit to ju ju practices, such as the very common, but secretive, Ghanaian practice of burying a Bible or living white dove in the church yard to pay off and thus ward off the powers of the occult. (Yes, it's true. Many many Ghanaian Christian churches have such secret ceremonies to "pay off" the occult powers that supposedly threaten the life of the pastor.)
- Places where the believers work together to provide business services to one another - where the Church has a large influence in the local marketplace. And thus provides jobs to it's members.

* Acts 4:32-35: "All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. "
