Obedience Versus Compromise

One day, several months back, the Lord said to me as I was waking in the morning – and worried about my money situation and other things –

THROW YOUR FEARS ON ME FOR I HAVE PURCHASED YOUR LIFE IN FULL !

Now I know this sounds very similar to the Bible verse – but it was said in a different version to me that day and was very meaningful to me..

I am re-reading this article on Jan. 23, 2008, and I want to add some more about what this means to me.  God did not say this time - "Cast your fears on me", or "Set your fears aside"... NO.  He said THROW, as in THROW THAT BALL AS FAR AS YOUR STRENGTH WILL LET YOU!   So do that... throw your FEAR AS FAR AWAY FROM YOU AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!

We belong TOTALLY TO HIM – FOR HE HAS PAID THE PRICE – FOR US -- IN FULL !    There is no mortgage on us, he owns us free and clear.  And I am speaking to myself here, too, this day.

I just got done reading my Bible, and this verse caught my attention as my verse for today.  (Luke 21:34)

Luke 21:34:

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Passage Luke 21:34:
34But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose;

This verse is for me – and perhaps for others who are reading it -- concerning the part about the worldly worries, and cares pertaining to the business of this life. And the commentary in my New Living Translation Life Application Bible says something like – “Be careful to not be weighed down with the worries of life – but instead always be ready to move suddenly to obey God”.

We Americans like to say,  “He owns it free and clear.”  When I typed that above, I felt the Lord say to me – He also wants us to feel and walk FREE AND CLEAR.  Because of His redemption, His salvation, His plans for us.  If we belong to Him – our business, our daily activities and responsibilities, our relationships, our marriages, our ministries, our callings – they all belong – along with us – to Him.  FREE AND CLEAR.  And I know He wants us to TRUST HIM IMPLICITLY.

Plus, we have to be careful when we get stressed by the wares and cares of this world. We must be careful NOT to COMPROMISE. Compromise is deadly!  We must decide to refuse to compromise our convictions!  Are we gonna please God, or people?  This may mean doing something that man thinks is crazy, and going against that person’s advice.  We need to NOT BE QUICK TO YIELD to people’s opinions, suggestions, and pressures. Instead – first – CHECK IT OUT WITH GOD.  What is He telling us to do? We must constantly obey the initial promptings of the Holy Spirit.  Sometimes, when we wait and think about a thing, we give Satan time to have conversations with us in our minds – to try to “reason” through a thing – and change our minds (but we think it is our own thinking).  So I’ve decided that no matter what – this is the MAIN RULE.  --> I’m gonna obey God no matter what and leave all the consequences to Him!  The Word of God is MY STANDARD for conduct.

Come to think of it, this question just came in to my mind – when I yield to the depression and wares and cares and worries of this world – am I not compromising to flesh?   It is so hard, at times, not to.  Cuz the thing is heavy – maybe like a house sitting on my chest!  May the Lord help us all to be stronger in His Spirit and give us more self-control – even concerning everything that tries to entangle us and keep us in the flesh.

So I don’t know if this helps anybody, but just typing it HELPS ME – cuz i need to hear this for myself today – and – in all honesty, I need to repent. For I have been letting the wears and cares of this world weigh me down and in so doing – have set aside other assignments and duties of my calling.  So I am running right now, to get back on track – where I am supposed to be.  No more derailment – amen!.  Wink
